Zusammenfassung

Die Lunge wurde als Respirationsorgan während der Fetalzeit nicht gebraucht, und die mit der Geburt einsetzende Atmung ist leicht störbar. Die häufigsten und schwerwiegendsten pulmonalen Erkrankungen des Neugeborenen sind das Atemnotsyndrom des Frühgeborenen durch Surfactantmangel, die Pneumonie, das Mekoniumaspirationssyndrom, die gehäuft nach Schnittentbindung auftretende Flüssigkeitslunge, und der Pneumothorax. Die bronchopulmonale Dysplasie ist eine chronische Lungenerkrankung des Frühgeborenen, bei deren Entstehung Unreife, Barotrauma, Sauerstoff, und Inflammation zusammenwirken.
