Zusammenfassung

Die kombinierte Nieren-Pankreas-Transplantation hat sich als die Methode der Wahl zum Erreichen von Normoglykämie und Insulinunabhängigkeit sowie zur Behandlung des endständigen Nierenversagens bei Patienten mit Typ-1-Diabetes und terminaler oder präterminaler Niereninsuffizienz etabliert. Seit der Einführung von Calcineurininhibitoren als Goldstandard der Immunsuppression bei Nieren-Pankreas-Transplantierten sowie der Verbesserung der chirurgischen Techniken erlebt die Nieren-Pankreas-Transplantation einen Durchbruch hinsichtlich der Senkung der Mortalität sowie der Organverlustrate. Der folgende Artikel stellt einen Überblick über den aktuellen Wissenstand und die aktuelle Debatte zum Thema Nieren-Pankreas-Transplantation zur Verfügung.
