As a professional group trained in the non-pharmacological management of breathlessness in critical illness, we were delighted to read the statement by the European Respiratory Society (ERS) and the European Society of Intensive Care Medicine (ESICM) [
1]. However, we were surprised by the lack of attention to allied health professionals (AHPs) or clinical psychology throughout. We believe that the complex multi-system experience of breathlessness requires an ‘all hands-on deck’ approach from the multi-professional team (MPT).
