Nach kurzen Darstellungen der für die Leitlinie relevanten diagnostischen Begriffe folgen die Empfehlungen der Leitlinie zu den Bereichen Diagnostik und Dokumentation.

Das nachfolgende Glossar wurde vom Erstautor auch für die Leitlinie „Medikamentenbezogene Störungen“, AWMF – Registernummer 038–025, S. 24 ff verfasst und in Auszügen verwendet.

Nicht-invasive Beatmung ist für Menschen mit chronisch hyperkapnisch respiratorischer Insuffizienz eine bewährte Therapie. Eine Schweizer Studie untersuchte die Auswirkungen der Beatmung auf über 75-Jährige und belegt nun deren Wirksamkeit.
