Zusammenfassung

Während in den vorangegangenen Kapiteln die kindliche Entwicklung von der Geburt bis in die Adoleszenz nachgezeichnet wurde, behandelt dieses abschließende Kapitel die wichtigsten Störungen der Entwicklung. Dabei werden die Begriffe Entwicklungsauffälligkeiten, Entwicklungsverzögerungen und Entwicklungsstörungen definiert. Auch werden Unsicherheiten und Widersprüchlichkeiten rund um das Thema „Entwicklungsauffälligkeiten“ beleuchtet und Einblicke in das Spektrum von Entwicklungsstörungen gewährt. Außerdem werden das Entwicklungsscreening, die Entwicklungsdiagnostik, Ursachensuche und Konzepte der Entwicklungsförderung präsentiert. Ein Unterkapitel widmet sich zudem den Schutz- und Risikofaktoren der kindlichen Entwicklung. Schließlich werden die allgemeine (kognitive) Entwicklungsstörung, die Entwicklungsstörung der Motorik, die Sprachentwicklungsstörung, die ADHS sowie die Autismus-Spektrum-Störung im Detail beschrieben.
