Zusammenfassung

Das kolorektale Karzinom ist insbesondere in den Industrienationen einer der häufigsten Tumorerkrankungen, wobei Tumoren des Rektums etwa 30–40 % aller kolorektalen Karzinome ausmachen. Neben der Einführung und Etablierung neuer neoadjuvanter Therapiekonzepte in der Behandlung des Rektumkarzinoms wurden in den letzten Jahren die chirurgischen Techniken stetig in Richtung der minimal-invasiven Chirurgie weiterentwickelt. Hier ist vor allem die robotisch assistierte Chirurgie in den Fokus gerückt, die sich trotz scheinbar schwacher Evidenzlage und nicht zu vernachlässigender ökonomischer Gesichtspunkte einer zunehmenden Verbreitung erfreut. Neue qualitativ hochwertige Studien zeigen nun erstmals Vorteile für die robotische Resektion beim Rektumkarzinom, sodass die zunehmende Implementierung robotischer Operationssysteme mehr und mehr auch eine wissenschaftliche Grundlage erhält.
