To the Editor: We appreciate Dr. Finsterer's critical review of our paper published in IJP and his letter to the editor [

2]. Guillain–Barré Syndrome (GBS) is an uncommon illness, and recurrent GBS is even more so. Rare disorders make prospective studies difficult. Even with their flaws, retrospective studies are convenient for learning about these diseases. Based on retrospective analyses, targeted prospective studies can be planned. Recurrent GBS cases are rarer than single-episode cases for the same reason. These patients make up 3–5% of previous reports from India and elsewhere. Additionally, more controls (Single episode GBS) per case (Recurrent GBS) reduces error and increases analysis power [
