PD-assoziierte Peritonitis

Zusammenfassung

Die Peritonealdialyse (PD) ist mittlerweile als hochwertige Alternative zur Hämodialyse in der Therapie der terminalen Niereninsuffizienz etabliert. Eine besondere Rolle kommt ihr bei der Behandlung von Patienten zu, die auf der Warteliste für eine Nierentransplantation stehen. Neben einer höheren Flexibilität, die oftmals auch mit einer höheren Lebensqualität einhergeht, ist die Peritonealdialyse mit einem besseren Erhalt der Restnierenfunktion assoziiert. Bei allen Vorzügen besteht allerdings das Risiko der Peritonitis. Die Peritonitisrate liegt bei adäquat geschulten Patienten jedoch unter Beachtung der hygienischen Besonderheiten in erfahrenen Zentren oftmals bei weniger als einer Peritonitis pro 60 Behandlungsmonaten. Der Prävention der Peritonitis sowie den entsprechenden diagnostischen und therapeutischen Standards kommt eine besondere Bedeutung zu. Diese werden in regelmäßigen Abständen von internationalen Fachgesellschaften aktualisiert.
