33. Generalisierte Angststörung

Zusammenfassung

Kinder mit einer GAS machen sich übermäßig starke, unbegründete und nicht kontrollierbare Sorgen über verschiedene Situationen und Lebensbereiche. Sorgen betreffen Kleinigkeiten wie Pünktlichkeit, gut genug in der Schule oder im Sport zu sein, sich richtig verhalten zu haben oder genug Freunde zu haben. Viele Kinder haben ein starkes Bedürfnis nach Rückversicherung. Charakteristisch für die GAS sind auch das Auftreten körperlicher Symptome der Anspannung, Ein- und Durchschlafprobleme, Konzentrationsschwierigkeiten sowie Kopf- und Bauchschmerzen. Darüber hinaus sind Kinder mit GAS häufig perfektionistisch und sehr angepasst, was dazu führen kann, dass das Leiden der Kinder nicht erkannt und daher keine Behandlung in Anspruch genommen wird. Da die GAS im Kindes- und Jugendalter ein bedeutender Risikofaktor für die Entwicklung einer Reihe von Angststörungen und vor allem der Depression darstellt, sind wirksame und effektive Behandlungen der GAS zentral. Die derzeit am besten untersuchte Behandlung für Kinder mit GAS sind Verfahren der kognitiven Verhaltenstherapie.
